May 2, 3: "Jails, Hospitals, and Hip-Hop" -- Social Activism Theatre
"Jails, Hospitals, and Hip-Hop," a one-man show by Danny Hoch, brings into the spotlight social injustice through the eyes of uncommon characters. With each new character, new issues are explored and another voice is heard on the matter. Yet so many voices at the University of Illinois are not heard. Following each performance will be an open forum to discuss the issues that affect our campus and community every day. Audience members will be given a chance to speak about what is important to them. So come and let your voice be heard.
Performances will take place on May 2 at 7:30pm in the Armory Free Theatre on the UIUC campus and May 3 at 7:30pm at the TIMES Center in Champaign. Both are free and open to the public.
Brought to you by the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center, Drupal, Acorn Active Media Foundation, Chambana.net, and all the makers of Instant Karma!. Supported in part by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. A member of Community Shares.
